It was a sunny and warm Saturday when I arrived to the Haukkalampi parking in the Nuuksio national park.

The plan was to walk about two kilometers from the parking to the Holma-Saarijärvi camping area.

Haukkalampi – Mustalampi – Kolmikulmalampi – Holma-Saarijärvi…

Hike starts from the gate at the parking.

There’s a sauna…

Possibility to go swimming.

And a small cafe, from where one can rest canoes, rowing boats, sup-boards and fatbikes.

Canoes and a pier with the rowing boats.

Circle route marked with yellow tags should lead to the destination.

The first half of the trip was easy to walk as the path was basically a well kept high way in the forest.

Crossing at the Mustalampi. There’s an old damn behind the wood shed.

After the Mustalampi the road continues as a forest highway towards the north, but the turn towards and past Kolmikulmalampi is just a path. Still easy to walk, doable with a MTB or a fatbike, but not for a stroller or a wheelchair.

A view at the shore of the Holma-Saarijärvi, taken from the north end towards the south.

The path around the Holma-Saarijärvi is partly boardwalk.

Plenty of fire wood at the island camping area.

Bridge to the island…

Even tho there was a yellow alert for a wild fire in effect…

…some people still thought that it was their right to set a fire and grill some sausages over an open a flame.
As the cozy island was some what crowded, I decided to move on. There were like six or so parties camping on the island already, so it felt a bit crowded.

A pic taken from the south end towards the island and the northeast.

Some more plank paths…

Camping site and the fire pit at the west shore of the Holma-Saarijärvi.

Enough fire wood here also…

And some ducklings to keep company.

Some food and treats were had.

And a cozy place to sleep was set-up.

Slept well the whole night, tho woke up couple times to the sounds of the birds doing their birds things.
The west side camping place was quiet and no other people wanted to camp in there. The island at the east shore was way more popular, as mentioned there were like six or so parties camping.
At the morning I ate what was left from the evening snack and treats and food and then headed back towards the car.
Sunday was a bit chillier day compared to the Saturday, so easy and comfortable walk back without sweating.
