When I started this blog in spring of 2018 I had a somewhat vague idea of me going around nature trails near by the city where I lived and write some kind of an introduction about those. – The idea started from a one brochure what I was given in a exhibition event held in town.
The brochure was a list and short introduction of ten nature trails around the city of Jyväskylä and I decided that I’d go around them all by my self and take few pictures and write something about every one of them. As you can see from the past, it didn’t go that well, as I was feeling somewhat lonely and even tho I tried I realized at the end of the summer that it was a bit difficult to go alone every time.
During the 2019 I also found the bike packing idea and started to build up an idea of doing some bike packing myself at next summer. One problem was that I had problems with my shoulders and neck and riding a normal bike for a extended period of time was painful. – So I decided to get a cheap recumbent, that was not a real recumbent, but the riding position was comfortable for me to ride longer trips.
With the bike, and later with a bike and a trailer, I made couple trips. But again I found out that I was really bad at going out alone. So didn’t do that many adventures back then.
I did have an extended list YouTubers that I followed and had many great plans of cycling around Finland and even around Europe…
…here’s some copy-pasta of what I wrote back in early 2019:
The bike itself is a budget solution and I’m still dreaming about those hi-end things that companies like HP Velotechnik and Azub makes. Maybe someday I will own one like that also.
For some added inspiration, here’s a small list of some of the YouTube videos that I’ve been watching during the dark and cold night of the winter:
- Bicycle Touring – Alaska to Alberta – 2015 by ForestyForest
- SEE THE WORLD 1: The North (full movie) by Iohan Gueorguiev
- Sweden, Finland & Norway Bike Tour: Bicycle Touring Pro Documentary (FULL MOVIE) by Bicycle Touring Pro
- The JaYoe World Tour | An Introduction | JaYoe Travelogue | Chapter 1 (of 41) by the JaYoe Nation
- The Journey by Paul Pritchard
- Bikepacking Japan – Tokyo to Kyoto by John Br0
- A JOURNEY BEYOND I (Full Length Documentary) by Bombtrack Bicycle Co.
- A JOURNEY BEYOND II (Full Length Documentary) by Bombtrack Bicycle Co.
- Winter Baikal | Full MOVIE | Baikal Lake Crossing by Recumbent Bike by AZUB recumbents
and this…
I’m planning to do some bikepacking around Finland to start with in this spring and summer. And when I get more confidence with the bike, hopefully do some longer trips into the national parks here in Finland.
I also had some more tubers to follow…

2019 and 2020 some adventures did happen but again I was always accompanied by loneliness on my trips. I really had no one to share those adventures with me. And in 2021 I finally got bored of doing those things and also writing this blog.
I think I was kinda going over the same feelings again, when in around 2013 I stopped snowboarding, as I started to find myself riding alone the parks and slopes. Everyone I rode with had disappeared; life, family, work and other adult things carried them away.- So I dropped some of the adventuring and writing of this blog.
…I did do some trips around 2021 – 2025, like a road trip with my van to Europe, where I drove through Fin, Sweden, Denmark to Germany and back within two weeks, but didn’t have any need of writing about those adventures. – Also YouTube and stuff started to become more and more professional and more and more people posted stuff online about their adventures, and I kinda felt that I had nothing to share or to offer, so why write anything about something?
I did document about all my hiking trips, road trips and other travel I did, took pictures and so on, but felt that there’s no need to share them for anyone.
I just counted and I have visited now over 30 countries where I’ve spent some time. Some countries for several times, like ie. Japan, a country that I like very much. Still need to go there again as I haven’t seen the country side properly, nor hiked through the mountains and small villages.
Now also in winter 2026 I’ve decided to pick up snowboarding again and as I’m writing this, my new board is waiting for me in the Ski Garage shop. And I’m planning to take the board out into the Lapland and Saariselkä next week to ride some slopes and hopefully do also some backcountry snowboarding and riding some off-hills.
A side project for the next week or so is also to drive this country from south to north and back again, and do a time lapse video of that adventure as well.

…but the main point of the trip is to take out the Pulkka and ride the longest pulk hill in Finland! ❤
So welcome 2026 and let’s hope that it will bring some good adventures and bestest of life experiences for us all!
