Upgrading my Rajajääkäri backpack

I have had my Rajajääkäri backpack for some years now. – I think Savotta has changed the name later and this sells now as Jääkäri L. – But for me it is still the Rajajääkäri packpack.

The “problem” has been those upper side pouches that I really have not had much of use. Sure they look tacticool, but as I really haven’t had any good use for them I decided to get rid of them.

Bit skinny and smallish, not really much stuff that I’d need to put into these.

So I decided to get two Savotta 12 liter side pouches to replace my small side pouches.

First need to get rid of the old ones…

The Mic-Tec pouches I decided to keep, but the other smaller ones needs to go.

New pouches attached to the (Molle) PALS webbing on the sides and strapped with the packs own side straps.

As I decided to keep the old Mil-Tec pouches I fitted them into the center panel of the backpack with the other two I already had in there. – Looks good now. Just need to go out again to test the backpack’s new layout. – Need to see how the side pouches function, or do I need to move them a bit lower so I can pack something on top of the backpack, but still under the snow hood.

. . .

Bought one pouch from the Mökkimies shop as they had some nice discounts going on. They were also kind enough to sent me a morale badge, so it found it’s place on the rig.

As Mökkimies only had one black 12 liter pouch available in stock and I was in a “hurry”, I ordered the other one from the Varusteleka (but no morale badge).

Good service from both shops; might definitely shop again. 0:)

Now I’m ready for the next adventures.
