Super moon weekend pt.1: Insomniac’s night walk

Warm autumn night, but the Sandman was not around to be seen or heard of. Maybe they had just forgot our appointment… Again…

As the sleep eluded me I decided to warm up some water and make some green tea into a thermos and went out walking into the warm darkness of the autumn night.

The sky was a bit cloudy but the full Moon was clearly visible and provided enough illumination that I really didn’t need a light to walk around some forest paths and dark country roads. My cellphone camera could not see anything, but for a naked eye the moonlight was plenty enough to stroll around.

There are street lights in this area also, but they are shut off for few hours during the night time as there’s hardly no one going to anywhere.

I started my stroll around 04 in the morning hours. Everything was quiet around. Could hear a lonely truck passing by now and then at the near by main road about a kilometer away. Temperature was around +5 – +7 °C.

Walked about to a small beach some km away and from there to a small rapids near by, just to see mirror clear lake at the moonlight and to hear the sound of water gushing through the stones towards the next lake. Had some tea at both places and just listened the almost total silence around me and enjoyed the nothingness like I was the last person on this planet.

At 05 in the morning the automagic robots of the power systems turned the street lights on again for the people going to work in the morning. I took it as a cue to start walking back to my place. Lucky for me, most of my route was still in darkness as there were no street lights.

Was back at my bed around 06 and fell asleep shortly after, just to wake up around 1030…
