I have developed this “bad habit” of finding excuses to go out into the nature. This time it materialized as a cooking session at a laavu in Suovu near Kuopio as I was visiting the city.

There are some nice outdoor activity infoes and maps about the laavus and trail in Kuopio area and spotted this from there some where.

The place is just next to a road so easy access for everyone.

And a big parking place for the visitors.

Nice clean outhouse is also wheelchair accessible.

People always need to make signs like these “better”. Lähde translates as water spring but when one adds “älä” at the front of it the meaning changes into “don’t leave”. Also from 100 to 400 and m to km to make it even more fun. And all with a piece of a burned stick. ❤

The laavu itself is a big one with a nice fire-pit and has nice cooking possibilities and a wheelbarrow to haul the wood from the shed.

Some firewood were also available tho they were BIG logs that one had to chop and saw into a decent size to use at the fireplace. Places like these usually have an axe or saw available for this but they are rarely in a very good shape so I came prepared with my own tools to make my life easier.

Also a nice view over the lake from the laavu.

Cooked some food: bacon, asparagus, baby spinach, and some veggies. Was nice. Ate much and was chill.

Also spotted the first mosquito for this summer.

Overall this was a nice break from the driving and spending couple hours to cook food and enjoy the outdoors. Much better option than a average roadside ABC-cafe if you ask me.

Also the hiking trail seemed interesting, so might come back someday to see the woods also and walk some paths.
