Today was nice +5 ºC outside, thou bit windy and even thou the Corona-Covid-19 pandemic rages on in our world, I decided to take my landtrain out for a this year’s first ride around the lake Jyväsjärvi.
Here in Finland people are still allowed to move freely around, thou one should avoid all unnecessary contact with other people and avoid groups of more than two persons. The virus is here in Finland also and as of yesterday officials have cut all traffic from and to the capital area of Uudenmaan kunta including the greater capital area of Helsinki.
Even this pandemic rages on, people are still encouraged to go out and move and exercise and to take care of themselves and of others around them. In that what we are lucky, as finns, is that we have a lot of open space and a quite low population density outside of the greater Helsinki area. So people go out even in city area and many are encouraged to go out to the forests and the rural areas, where one can relax, (re-)connect with the nature and recharge ones batteries, as many people are working from their homes at the moment.
As one might know, the city of Jyväskylä is build on a shore line of a lake Jyväsjärvi and around the lake Jyväsjärvi goes a route called Rantaraitti. The route is 12,6 km long and it took me about one hour to complete. There were quite many other people also out today, but it wasn’t crowded and I had a quite nice time riding around the route by myself.
I’ve ridden this route many times before, but this time the twist was that I had gotten myself an action camera and I strapped that onto my bike and recorded the whole ride at 720p60.
But now I’m facing a problem, as I kinda would not want to make a YouTube account and a channel for this project, nor any other FB, nor Insta, etc. I like writing a blog here in WP, but even with a Premium plan here in WP, I would only get 13 GB of disc space and that’s not much when one starts to upload videos.
Then again, editing a ride around the lake to few short clips also kind of loses the point of the whole video…
So at the moment I’m standing on a cross roads and pondering what will my next move be.
But till next time, be safe and avoid contact with other people.
