Decided to go out today to test my camping gear.

I’ve have had this Savotta backpack for some time, but now I wanted to test it out with a set of gear that I would take with me for a couple days trip.

After packing the pack I took the bus number 25 to the Laajavuori outdoor center. From there I took a couple km walk to a laavu that’s in the woods, at a crossing of couple trails.

Laavu was in nice condition and they even had some firewood left. This is a popular place in winter times as many skiers come to Laajavuori to ski and I believe they supply this laavu with firewood in the winter time, but maybe not in summer time.

And of course when you’re out like this one must prepare a meal of holy bacon for oneself. Goes down nicely with some fresh bread and utensils to cook one can cut or carve from a block of birch.

After a meal and some time chilling my journey continued.

All the snow was already long gone, but the forest floor was still completly wet and nice streams went there and here. Birch trees were starting to get their leaves and everything look a bit more green every day.

Total distance I walked was about 5 km, as I went around the Laajavuori and took a bus back to city from Killeri horse racing center. Time well spent; about five (5) hours.
